my starter..yea.
so i just sold my ps3. got 160 for it, went to the bank and it made a grinding noise and started after the second start. then i go home and shut it off. restart it, and it doesnt turn over. i heard a piece of metal hit the concrete. we dropped the starter, the housing literally cracked in half. has anyone ever seen/heard of this? if so what could have made a 2 year old starter do this?
also i got a prostart from pepboys. its a reman, with a limited lifetime on it. never heard the truck start so quietly
there went the 160. the total came to 159.41

ive seen two vehicles snap the nose cone off and/or crack a starter. both being chevys were caused by a cracked engine block. the outside starter hole was cracked causing the starter to shimmy around during start up and cause it to crack. but on both those junks they would immediately bust the new starter after a few cranks if youre doing good so far maybe it was just a junk starter
