Default Need ABS, SRS Code Reader

Wondered if anyone on here could recommend a good abs, srs code scanner that will work on s10 & blazers, jimmys etc... for under $500. Been looking at the autel md802 mxdiag. What is everyone else using ? Need it to check airbag codes on my 97 jimmy, been on since i bought it, my 98 sonoma highrider, been on since heater core install, think my brother in law forgot to disconnect the neg battery terminal during install. Thanks

For well under $500 you can get Autoenginuity software and access most of the network, and it has some bi-directional capabilities too. It's a no brainer.

Autel makes a good easy to use reader one that reads ABS ANS SRS 300 OR LESS
and they have live data as well as freeze frame

This one will fit the bill. Freeze frame and live data along with what you require.

I have been told that the 97 ABS and SRS (airbags) modules for a 97 GM vehicle are on the older OBD1 bus. That is physically and logically separate from the OBD2 bus of the PCM. Is this true?
I have a couple of scanners (Actron CP9580, Palmer Performance GM Enhanced) that read ABS but cannot read the ABS on my 97 S10.
