The worst thing you will run into is the bell housing bolts. I long extension will go a long way. The driver side upper is a real peach. you will have to drop the x member for the tranny, jack up the body, or do as I did and drill a hole in the floor under the pedal. Make sure you remove everything from the front to clear the support.

That does sound like a pretty good deal for a nice low mileage engine!

While you have the replacement engine out, go ahead and replace all the gaskets. I did and have not seen a drop of oil. Much easier out of the truck.
Great deal on the engine. I paid 425 for a 67k engine. Had to drive an hour to get it but it was clean.

I know you have a 1997 Blazer .The replacement Engine is an 01 you got. The 2001 engine has a (2) wire Knock Sensor and you will need to Drill and tap the hole Larger to the ole style (1) wire sensor you have from the 97 engine . When you ask about engines you said a 1998 or 2000 for a replacement not a 2001 in your First Post Remember? Better Check it out. Hope this helps T.J.

That should be an *if* it has a 2 wire sensor. Good call, but there were two different knock sensors for this year. It just takes drilling and tapping the back of the block to switch between the two.

ok cool thanks for the info ill look into that. well i was originally getting a 2000 but i found this and it very well could be a 2000 the guy didnt know the year he said it a 00 or 01 i just figured that they were the same anyway i liked this engine cause it was closer and it came with everything the bracket on the front of engine alll the pulleys ac and alt even the fan. but yea ill look at the knock sensor and see what it is.where is it located? it on the back right?

Ok just wanted to point this out, It would Suck get it in and ...WHAT ,,,,Wrong Knock Sensor, And Yes the big "IF" comes into play . Yes the sensor is on the Back of the engine, if you are looking at the engine right side of the Distributor on the block. Good Luck T.J.
