Need help finding the right parts
#1
So, I should be getting my bonus next month and there are few things I would like to fix. I have a broken leaf spring on the left of my 2000 blazer 4x4. I have replacement springs (thanks Rexmburns) and urethane bushings for them. From what i have read I need to replace the u bolts, is this correct? Also I want to do my backing plates and parking brake hardware. I have the correct backing plates in my shopping cart on rock auto. I was wondering what other parts I should get to do the job. I have these in my wishlist on Amazon. Are they right?
I would I assume I need rear axle seals since the axles have to come out to do my backing plates. I wanted to order seals but there are several axle sizes listed. is there anyway that I can tell by what gears I have? I have the 3.42 gears and non-G80 rear (according to the RPO codes). My rear diff cover is also rather rusty so I would like to replace that as well but have the same problem with different sizes. Here is a shot of my RPO sticker and the best picture of the diff cover I could get in the office parking lot

Any help is appreciated.

You will need new U bolts and nuts. Only on the 4 door models: The bolt head on the driver side forward bolt is on the inboard side of the frame. The bolt will not clear the fuel tank when removing it. You will either need to drop the tank to get the bolt out, or cut the head off. If you decide to cut it, obviously you'll need a new bolt, must be grade 8. Soak the bolts, bushings, and nuts with PB Blaster for a few days prior to your adventure. Might need heat too, so have a torch ready.
Park brake: The shoes and hardware that you have listed are the correct parts. Make sure the pedal mechanism applies, and releases. Make sure all of cables, and the adjuster work. Dorman makes a two pack of backing plates, #924-209, cheap. Dorman also makes the cover, #697-701, comes with the gasket, cheap. Rear axle seals National #710166. Couple of quarts of 80w90 gear lube, and a pumper to dispense it, or an assistant and a 5' piece of hose.
