Default Need Help with gmc jimmy

I've bought 96 gmc jimmy for $400 and the guy put in a junkyard engine but never hooked anything up on the engine so I'm in a bunch. I need to know were these wires/hose go.

I know the hose to the right in this picture goes to the evap purge solenoid.

The wires are grounds that attach to the rear of the cylinder heads. They should all be black, or black with a white trace.

The EVAP purge solenoid has a quick connect fitting and uses a nylon line, not rubber. The lines in the image are most likely for the HVAC/4WD systems. If you follow them, one of them goes to the transfer case vacuum switch.

Ok thanks just wish I could see were the bolt holes were. I will just whip out my whistler inspection camera and look at the back of the cylinder heads

for the evap purge solenoid doesn't it connect to a hard steel line next to the fuel lines

The nylon EVAP line has a quick connect fitting at each end. There is a green service port, (looks just like the fuel pressure service port, only plastic) in the line. One end of the line goes to the EVAP solenoid, the other end goes to a steel line next to the fuel lines.

Ok I think someone must of rigged it up because the vaccum hose on the right in the picture is connected to the steel line. I also have the line with a green evap test port in the back that I picked up from a junkyard. Thanks for that info. I also have some other question on were stuff goes but will wait till it stops ranning out to go take pictures of it.

There are 3 rubber vacuum lines that run down along the transmission, on the driver side, fairly close to the steel lines. They connect to the transfer case vacuum switch, and they only connect one way, if you want the 4WD to work correctly Let us know when you're ready to do those.

Ok thanks I will let you guys know when I'm ready to do those. I have to do those hard to get to bell housing bolts on top. I have to get the bolts first. Does anyone know we're I can get those bolts at. I found a set on ebay

Bellhousing Transmission 4L60E Mounting Bolts 4 3L V6 Vortec Engine Chevy Truck | eBay

I don't know if the set will work on my 96 gmc jimmy

I also bought a 96 gmc/chevy s/t factory service manual set on ebay so I can figure some stuff out on my own.

Thanks for the help up to this point. I love that there is a forum out there to help people with these vehicles.

Going to be working on the jimmy next week and going to raise the front of the body off the Frame to get to the transmission bolts and the grounds on back of the cylinder heads also be some other stuff hooked up while I have access to it easier.
