Need Help with gmc jimmy
#22
I was wondering what that was sitting in the back. I got the temp sender sensor screwed in and plug it in.
Thanks I will get under the truck tomorrow if its not raining and see if I have any vacuum lines hooked to the transfer case vacuum switch. If so I will post back.
I'm going to try and start the motor this week to see if it fires up and has no knocking.

So I had to remove the passenger side exhaust manifold to install that stupid piece that runs from the passenger manifold to the intake. I looked at the vacuum switch and see hoses on it so I will b e messing with 4wd when I hook everything else up and see if the jimmy runs

So I tried to hook up the pipe from the passenger side exhaust manifold to the cylinder head and what do you know the threads on the cylinder head side need a tap ran through them. How can I find out what size tap that I need.

Ok thanks for the info I just bought a thread pitch gauge off ebay. Since I couldn't find any at my local stores. So I'm going to buy new plugs and a new cap and rotor I don't know about the wires I will have to look at them. I heard I need a swivel spark plug socket to do the job.

The threads are probably metric on the EGR tube.
Can't tell much by looking at the wires... kinda like looking at bath water, you have to test it If they're 5 years old, they need replacement.
No need for a swivel socket to get #3 plug. Disconnect the steering shaft from the gear box and swing it out of the way... piece of cake.
Use AC Delco plugs, (41-993) cap, (D465) & rotor, D328A. Wires need to be a good quality set, not a "store brand".

that's the gauge I bought off ebay.
it will probably be 1/2in pipe thread as that's what the heater fitting was on the passenger side intake.
also I went and bought some dei cool - tape to wrap around that stupid pipe on the drivers side manifold. It has some of the stock heat wrap on it still on the bottom half I cut the bad sections out as the factory heat wrap was shedding all over the engine.

So i got the fitting figured out and i bought all ac delco tune up parts for the motor. I have another stupid question im trying to get the fuel lines in on the top intake and im having a hard time getting them to seat all the way down to install the 2 nuts hold theem down.

Use a dental pick to get the old ones out. DO NOT reuse them.
#2 & #6 push down to keep the others in place. Lube the fuel lines with clean motor oil before installing them, then the bracket, then the stainless steel nuts. This kit has all the parts you need, and you won't use all of them: Dorman - Help Fuel Injector O-Ring Seal Kit 90000: Advance Auto Parts
