Need help p0300 and slight backfire

5/16 - 18 HHS, 4 Flute tap is available at any good hardware store, Lowes, Home depot, etc. Don't get a cheapie. If it breaks off in the cylinder head, you are screwed. Get a good one, usually around $10. https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/0326801

I ordered one off Amazon it's kodiac brand cost $10.14 so I hope it's good

Start it carefully and gently, make sure it's not cross-threaded. Run it in slowly, back it out every turn or so to clean the flutes, and don't force it. Use oil if necessary. Taps are fragile: It will take less torque to break the tap off, than it does to break a bolt

and they are hardened, so forget about drilling that tap out!

Ok so I've got it all apart except the valve covers

Looking at the old gaskets I can't find anything wrong with them looks almost brand new and was still sealed pretty good took kind of a lot to pry the intake loose (more than I remember doing the last time)

The only thing I noticed was a little build up around the coolant passages not as bad as last time but I'm sure this is common

Still waiting for Amazon to ship my new stuff

Well I finally got all my stuff and time to put it all back together

And after all that hard work I get ........ Extreme disappointment

It runs EXACTLY the same
Ran the live data and it's identical to the last one I ran still p0300 and backfire

Don't really know what this means but I unplugged the o2 sensor on b1s1 (the problem bank) and it ran the same but it would not go into closed loop and the strange part is I did not get a code for it still only p0300

Where do I go from here I'm not even sure what's left to look at. So frustrated
