need help, possibly a short?
i have a 2000 chevy blazer LT 4wd. i am having a bit of a problem with the rear hatch popping open when the drivers door is unlocked either way, whether it's the key or the key kob, and it won't stay shut unless you turn the key to the acc position. any ideas?
What trouble shooting steps have you tried? You really need to get into it and check the wiring for abrasions that would allow wires to cross.
Your description of the problem is a bit confusing though... What do you mean "it won't stay shut unless you turn the key to the acc position"? Do you mean that it won't stay shut unless you have the key in the ignition and have it turned to the accessory position? So you are saying that so long as the driver's door is unlocked, it is continually trying to unlock the rear hatch?
Have you tried unplugging the hatch release switch to see if it isn't an internal fault in the switch?

i have taken the panel off and i am getting power to the latch that pops the glass open when i unlock the drivers door, not sure if you are suppose to or not. i use to have to hit the unlock button twice for the rear hatch to unlock and not open itself.i ment to say that when the glass pops open when you unlock the drivers door and it won't latch shut unless you turn the key to acc position. if i disconnect the 3 amp mirror and door lock fuse under the distribution block under the hood, it won't pop the glass when i use the remote but then i don't have power locks or mirrors.
how would i tell if the actuator that pops the glass is faulty?

Doesn't sound like it is faulty, rather that something else is feeding it with voltage, holding it open.
I'd have to dig through some wiring diagrams to determine if there even is wiring for that in the driver's door, but as I said earlier, I would unplug the switch in the dash and see if that cures the problem. You could pull the rear panel and see if the actuator is always powered. If it is, then the problem isn't the actuator, but further up in the system.

ok so i unplugged the switch and tried it and it didn't open, then i plugged the switch back in and it still didn't open, but the button in the tailgate isn't working. i bet it was a faulty switch causing it to happen. anyways thanks a lot!!!
