Need input on a/c failures
OK not me. Mine just needs the radiator coil replaced. But my dad has been having a bugger of a time with his a/c on his 96 High Sierra 1500 (pickup) engine is just like the 96 blazer. He has found that the high pressure port and the pressure switch are leaking. I've helped somewhat but we can't seem to get it to stop leaking. He replaced the high pressure port and the needle valve. Still leaks. he bought a new pressure switch for the accumulator. And new O-rings for the switch. Still leaks. From what we can see those are the two leaks so far. Nothing else leaking. We are using flourescent die with a black light and goggles. It shows clear so we know that are the leaks. But need input from anyone who has made these repairs or who has dealt with it on things that might work.
Go to the website I have attached. One of the best places for help on the interet. I live in Arizona and bought all my parts for three cars and trucks from these people. Everything they sell is great and the website is more then happy to help you. Have to advise you though, you may get a lot of questions as to what the pressure was on the high side and low side and stuff like that. Just get on and admit you are by no means an expert and looking for advice and I am sure someone will help you.
Can tell you though, they will probably say toss the dryer and buy a new one, they are cheap. The high side switch is a mystery if your Dad replaced everything. No place in the country like down here in AZ that has more AC problems. Try the sight and good luck.
