Default Need some Radiator Help

Well I have developed a coolant leak and as far as I can tell there may be a crack in the plastic tank on the drivers side of the radiator. All my hoses seem to be tight so there must be a crack. So I am looking at buying a new radiator after I pull the old radiator out to confirm my problem. Does anyone know if this can be repaired or if I should just buy a new radiator.

Also I have looked at new radiators, whats the easiest way to tell which coolers I have. There seems to be alot of options on trans coolers, oil coolers, etc. Just need to make sure I have all the ones that I need.

Once you pull the radiator, bring it to a reputable radiator shop and have them check it out. They can tell you whether it can be repaired or will need to be replaced. If it needs to be replaced do your best to find an all aluminum radiator. Find a stock replacement if very easy for the shop and should run around $130 or so.

I would say just replace it. It's a common crack. Both mine went at 120,000 with identical cracks. The first I replaced the second I repaired. The problem with the repair is there was alot of pressure on the repair and on a 90 deg. day boom she went. So save yorself the headache is my opinion. As for coolers look at the jugs if you got steel lines that threads into them you got oil and trans coolers within. If you only have on oil is on the driver side and trans goes on the pass.

I picked up my radiator for about 100 bucks.... Thing runs COOL now.... but I took a deershot.... You could just pull the radiator and compare to other radiators... I bought mine off of ebay....

Be sure to note that it will get easier after the first pull....

Its an actually pretty easy process... Goodluck!

thanks for all of the advice guys. Im going to try and pull it tomorrow and take it by a local shop. The new one from advance is around 100 bucks so it wont be a terribly expensive fix.

I think for how cheap radiators have gotten your better off getting a new one. They are pretty easy to change on the blazers as well. I just hate those stinkin quick connect clips.
