Question neutral position in transfer case??

Hello to this forum,

I am looking for a used blazer to tow behind my motor home, either four down or on a two wheeler, .......... I'm not particular about what year made, just condition........my full size pickup is just a little too heavy to be towing.......

I need to know what tranfer case can be shifted into neutral.......?? i have only owned full size chevy four wheelers in the past, so i have not kept up with the smaller drive trains...

thanks, Don

I'm not sure about towing them but the s10 blazers came with the same 4L60E trans as alot of the full size did. Like I said thats probably not much help but its all I got lol!

The 4 button with the auto 4 wd option (NP236) can be shifted into N at the transfer case.Hold 2 buttons in at the same time for a few seconds and you have N.

Manual transfer cases can be put in neutral too... Most older 1st gens have the manual 231c tcase. Some 2nd gens have it also but not sure how many.

thanks for the quick answers!!........it seems that i remember about the push buttons [i looked at a few in years past] that probably kept me from buying one then!!

Unless i can find a small blazer in good shape with the right transfer case, I will probably start looking at some of the jeeps, i really don't like the idea of the push button, there seems to be a lot of problems with them, [as per this forum].......

Most blazers have a manual transfer case also.. IF you look hard enough you might find a truck with one.
