Default Neutral safety switch issue

The NSS on my 01 Blazer broke apart when I touched it. I have a repl., but I can't get the trans. into N (to properly align the new switch at install). there are two harnesses at the switch. Is there a jump to release the lock so I can shift it into N?
Thanks.

Default

To replace the park/neutral switch on the 4L60E, you have to disconnect the shift cable, remove the shift lever, and then you can remove the park/neutral switch. You should be able to manually shift the transmission by hand once the shift cable is disconnected.

Default Inconsistent start

I've replaced the Neutral safety switch and the ignition switch. Vehicle will start, but inconsistently. I cannot count on it starting every time I turn the key. Stranded a number of times.
Need advice on
1. "Security" lock out (reset)
2. Does the new neutral safety sw. need some kind of "fine alignment"??
Thank you.
