Default New Fuel Pump and now wont start

We replaced the fuel pump with a new acdelco pump and we also replaced the relay with one from napa. We ran the truck around for about 20 min. and then we went to start it up again about a half hour later, and it just cranked. It doenst sound like the pump is coming on?? Has anyone hd this problem? thanks.

I had the same problem, at around 80K the fuel pump died. Me and my dad dropped the tank and replaced it, the first start went but it wouldn't start after the first drive.

I didn't have to replace any relays, though.

We went back in and re installed it a little tighter then before and that fixed the problem. There is a chance you got a bad apple of a pump, but I would check your connections.

Good luck!

Thanks, We are pretty sure we figured it out. One of the slots where the pins on the relay go in looked like it was a bit corroded so we bent the pin a little bit on the relay so it would make a more forceful connection.

well i had same problem with my 99 blazer.replaced fuel pump three times.replaced of course relay wasnt that.put in new one from advance auto parts, put it on and ran for maybe 25to 30 min.went to a b-day party that same day and when we were about to leave it didnt start.okay sooo went back gave me another one put it on and workedfor a day or so.went to my brother house to pick him up that nite and we stopped to put gas turned it off and then didnt start anymore.so next morning had blazer picked up at my brothers house by a nieghbor with a flatbed took it home.took me bout a week to take tank off with gas n it,by myself took it off and took pump back to advance auto parts.they looked at the pump and where the harness connects to fuel pump it was burnt in one of the conections.they told me that there was a recall on these blazers due to harness,so they gave me another one thats like 300 bucks with new harness.i just had to take off old harness and color match with new harness.put it all back together and said a prayer, and it worked.needless to say it was hard for me cause ive never done this bfore ever.so it was a challenge but i was determend to get it running.that was 4yrs.ago and still kickin.
