Hello all. First post but long time follower of the forum. I got a 98 jimmy 2 door for my daughter. The evap port on the fuel pump module was broken so i replaced with a new module. the vehicle ran fine before i did this and now it wont start. I am getting fuel but i haven't checked the official pressure yet (i dont have a tester) I was thinking maybe since i forgot to unhook the battery maybe some sort of inertia switch or something may have been tripped. is there some safeguard system to the these things?
thanks in advance.

I doubt you are as dumb as me and would make this mistake, but it can't hurt to share. When I finished putting my fuel pump in, I poured the gas back in that I had taken out when I first started. A few gallons at most. The truck's back end was still up on ramps. You can probably tell where this is going. Truck wouldn't start, and it took me a few minutes to realize that all the gas was collected at the front of the tank and wasn't getting picked up by the pump. You said that you were getting fuel though, so this probably isn't your problem.

Thanks a bunch. I figured out the issue was in fact fuel pressure. it only had 40 psi. when i pulled the pump back out i noticed the little tube was cut. i must have nicked it on the lip when i put the module in the tank. it now primes to 60 psi, idles at 55, and goes up to 60 when accelerated and drops to apx 45 when accelerator is released and then back to 55 for idle. I think that's all in spec.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
