new fuel pump still want start PLEASE HELP

Unhappy new fuel pump still want start PLEASE HELP

got a 1997 chevy blazer 4.3 v6 auto 4 door ran great had tune up in the last year im getting spark from coil i get gas all the way to the motor but after that nothing.it will start for a second run then dies. if i take fuel lines loose over carb there is gas but it will only run if i keep spraying gas in the carb.i got no check engin light i put fuel pump in last night nothing.when it would not start the motor looked like it was moving more than usual.after i put fuel pump in the motor doesnt shake as bad now but will only start for a second.i got nothing i have no idea what it could be any sugestions please help i drive 30 miles one way to work and this is my only car

Being a '97, you do not have a carb, the motor is fuel injected. Did you do any diagnosis prior to replacing the fuel pump to see if that was the actual problem? In another thread I saw that you were having a problem with the #5 spark plug fouling, so you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator (FPR). Get a fuel pressure gauge and use the diagnostic steps in this thread to try to pinpoint your problem and get back with us.

hey thanks dude i tryed all the things you said about the fuel pressure and i got the pressure and still nothing i found out a while ago that the misfiring plug was the enjector plug was not pluged in all the way that was months ago.but now this fuel system problum i checked all the fuel pressures its right at what it should be but nothing. starting to think its the pcm i mean ive got pressure and all the componants work im just not getting and juce from the computer form this one black wire that runs to the enjector wiring harness so im thinking pcm i checked wire not bad but no juice from computer and i know the wire plugs to the computer got any feed back or am i wrong

I cant make any sense what you just wrote lol but try changing the fuel filter

changed filter still no deal this stincking blazer want start got any other sugestions

The next thing I think of is a faulty injector assembly.

If you had the wiring harness to the injector unplugged make sure you didnt bend any of the prongs putting it back together

Had the same problem with my 97 jimmy after putting in 2 new fuel pumps, found out that the distributor cap had some very fine cracks in it, replaced cap and rotor, started right up

did you re attach the ground wire from the tank, if thats not re-attached your pump won't turn on

after trying to start it so much did u check to see if it is gas washed get a lighter and pull your oil dip stick out and see if it will light and smells like gas if so u need to change your oil i had to do it to mine i had a prob like that i had rubber gaslines they were all cracked up had to run a new line from gas tank to the filter hope this will work for ya
