Is your parking brake light always on by any chance? or any warning light for that matter. my proportioning valve got stuck open and my pedal went all the way to the floor, but my brake light came on.

As for the steering i would check out the rag joint. i noticed when my rag joint was bad my steering felt kinda spongy, not just loose like a steering box might cause.

 

the brake light hasnt come on, although let me say, when i went to get emissions test, they had to wiggle the key to get the service engine light to light up...sooooo, i guess its possible its not being lit up as well, the funny thing is, when i replace pads, brake pedal will be fine for cple months. the front end is weird cause everything is tight, i guess ill jack it up and dble check it again, prob needs greasin again anyways.
