New ignition switch and still no start

Ok this is what I have done.....I took the new one out just for giggles, put the old one back in and used di-electric grease on the bolt together block and the passlock wire up at the key end an d voila!!! Starts everytime.....Now I am wondering how long this lasts for but at the end of the day I have a new switch if all else fails!!!
Thanks so much for all of the advice, if ever I have a problem with the blazer, this place solves it!!!
