Default New waterpump, slight coolant leak and running hot .WTF?

So last Saturday I replaced the waterpump on my blazer. Everything seems to go fine and I fill her up with coolant, I'm still getting a very small leak and my truck runs hot,not quite overheating over the 210 mark, between 210 and redline. I also smell the coolant but cannot seem to locate a leak. Any suggestions or a checklist of things to check/double check besides obvious things?( hoses,clamps...)

What was the reason you changed the water pump? Was it bad or was it for the same symptoms you're currently experiencing? Two common things on this truck are a leak at the rear driver's side of the intake manifold. It can spit onto the exhaust manifold and dries before it can leak onto the ground. It can be difficult to see without specifically looking at that spot. The other is the heater core, you may feel dampness on the passenger side carpet. Those are just two possibilities to check.
