Default No crank

I have a 2001 4x4 blazer with a 4.3. it has been parked for about a year waiting for me to afford a transmission for it. I had to steal the oil pressure switch off of it last year, so now I'm putting it back together in preparation for sending to the transmission shop. It won't crank now. The security light was flashing. I did the wait 10 minutes thing and the security light is off now. Still no cranking. What are my next steps? If I don't get it running by Monday the hubby's truck gets to go to the transmission shop and blazer has to sit and wait another year probably. I really want to drive this thing. I really don't have the extra funds to play the try every part until one works game. I'm going right now to tap on the starter and anything else I can find to tap on before I start pulling things apart. I am not above running a light switch to the starter if I have to

I assume you've checked the obvious stuff (battery is good, terminals are clean, shifter is in neutral, etc.)? Maybe try holding the key to the start position while moving the shifter, in case the neutral safety switch is out of whack). Obviously, hold the brake in case it starts. If you can get to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid, you can try a remote starter switch to bypass the whole starting circuit.
