Default No Heat in a 96

Need some help. I got a 96 2 door for free but it has no heat. The temp gauge will NOT go above 120. The blower motor seems fine. I have no idea when or if the coolant has been flushed or a themostat changed. Thanks

Start with a coolant flush and a t-stat change. Sounds like your thermostat is not opening.

Just tried flushing the heater core. no clogs still no heat. neither hose going into the core gets hot and the temp gauge still not moving. Still possibly the thermostat? I,m gettin tired of working on these things. In 10 degree weather, it gets old fast. Thanks

It definitely is your t-stat if the engine temp doesnot make it over 120*F. And I meant to say sounds like your t-stat is 'stuck open', not 'not opening'. Just a little mis-communication between my brain and fingers.

Hey Thanks. Just got a thermostat from the store. I know about those mis-communications. My life is full of them. Hopefully this will get it. I certainly don't want to haul my 14 month old around in this cold. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll let ya know the verdict.
