Default No Magnet in tranny pan

So I dropped the tranny pan to replace half the fluid and tranny filter in my 97 Olds Bravada this weekend. Even installed a drain plug so I wouldn't have to drop the thing again. After I had the job done and all filled back up with tranny fluid I was cleaning up and noticed I forgot to put the cleaned magnet back on the pan - found it on the workbench.

When orignally dropping the pan the magnet was covered in very fine shavings. The Bravada has 110,000 miles and I believe this was the first time the pan has been dropped. Am I ok without the magnet or shoul I drop the pan to put this back in right away? Maybe will I be ok for a year (until next time I need to swap out 5 quarts of new Dex III?). Any suggestions?

Honestly, That magnet is "not" gonna kill the tranny not being in there, but keep an eye on how it starts to shift and operate, with that kind of mileage and now changing out the fluid ( most tarnnys) will start to slip with new fluid... Sum people may believe diff but , ive had the exp of changing tranny fluid and then the tranny starts to slip...ask a reputable tranny shop that question and see what they say ...

Thanks for the heads up....I didn't go in for a flush for this reason - so the sediment wouldnt' be washed around and possibly stuck in a valve. The fluid was pretty dirty so I'm sure the tranny temps were running higher than they should've been so I wanted to get it changed.
