Using silicome when installing your tranny pan

Unhappy Using silicome when installing your tranny pan

I need to no whether I made a mistake today when,I put silicome on the pan side of the gasket,before installing the pan back on the tranny?PLEASE HELP!

I do it all the time. Is it leaking?

i did when i installed mine. helps alot to hold the gasket in place.

if you used the right stuff and its not leaking you should be fine, i heard of alot of tranny shops that use that method.

i used a blue in color gasket maker silicone.

Man Im glad to hear that! Ive been worried about it,and yes that is what i used was gasket maker the RTV grey stuff that says its for trannys! And man can itell the differance since i changed out the filter and put that high miles tranny fluid in it. And no its not leaking at all now!

Glad to hear that. We only coated the one side, we matched up the holes and let it dry... no problems with it moving around while your trying to pit the pan back up there.
