Default no power... need help!!!

my 2000 chevy blazer stock has no power. for instance i would try to back over a curb and give it some gas and it would start to lose power and jump from about 1000 to 1500 rpms. i have no idea what is wrong with it and would appreciate any help or ideas given. thanks for the responces in advance.

Your list is good, but I would also add, fuel filter, PCV valve, cap and rotor.

edit: does the engine do this in both park and drive and reverse?...are you sure it's not a slipping transmission?

Does the engine run fine at idle? Will it rev-up nice and smooth?
How many miles on the engine? Usually loss of power is due to a plugged-up cat. Easy test is to remove the pre-cat O2 sensor, put some type of deflector/heat shield if possible, then do a quick to see if power has returned. This will set the Service Engine Soon lite and will need to be cleared. If power does not return, then it is not the cat and time to look at fuel and spark.

Let us know what you find out.
