No Rear Windshield Wiper Switch '02 Xtreme?
#22
Yeah it's exactly like as far as I can tell. that except it isn't seated all the way down, like it's power was cut off before the latching relay could bring the wiper back down all the way. I'm assuming it has a latching relay like most regular windshield wipers do.
The key cylinder on the tailgate doubles as the button, if that's what you mean. I push in the key cylinder and it pops open the glass. Is that what you were asking?

the only other than i can think of. keep in mind this is crazy. they put in the air bag lock to disengage the passenger air bag because they for some reason were worried or had problems when it got in a wreck that either
A. it would trigger later
B. they had a child they had to transport in the front and put that air bag "cutoff" switch in place of the hatch release and wipers. the only other thing you could do. would be to pop off that cover and see if the wiring for the hatch and the wiper is still back in there. thats the only 2 reasons i could think of why one would be in there.

Ok. If they removed the wiper switch in place of the air bag cut off, would there be a connector for it already to begin with?
Even better question: What if I don't find any connectors back there anymore? Am I basically SOL?

Yeah, you got a point there. I can't wait until I get home tomorrow so I can get to the bottom of this. Thanks for all your responses guys and @Spectreblazer for the pics that I couldn't get a hold of. I will report back tomorrow with what I find.

Got some pictures today.
Okay so I finally got to take a look at my Blazer. I come bearing pictures so that you guys can see what I'm dealing with.
Basically, as you guys can tell, that switch is just a casing. There is no connection on the back of it and is virtually useless. I did some scrounging around back there, and after a while I finally found a connector other than the the main one for the radio. I found a lot of "extra" wire back there, like RCA's and just some regular 18 gauge wire that were just there and not attached to anything, but that's besides the point.
So, what is this connector to? I hope it's for the rear hatch/wiper.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Yep, that's it.
Just to make sure, I printed up a wiring diagram now that I knew what I was looking for, and jumpered the connector pins and voila, my wiper motor turned on.
That brought a smile to my face because now my wiper arm is not half way up on the glass. I can atually open my glass without having to pull the arm back.
Thanks Spectreblazer, you have been a great help with providing all the pictures, and thanks to everyone else who helped as well. Would have taken me so much longer to figure it out if I didn't have this forum to help with the tech support.
Now I just need to go buy the switch and a new distributor to stop the misfire (hopefully) and my truck should be golden.
It's all piecing together now. Thanks again guys.
