Hey guys, I bought a 1999 Blazer ZR2; I believe it has an LS interior. Everything is in average condition as far as wear and tear it seems. The interior is good, nothing cracked or broken, the exterior is good...a little rust here and there (noteably on the spare tire support).
I have been reading through the forums--trying to figure out if my 4 x 4 capability was working correctly.
When I test drove it it would be in 2hi, the light would sometimes be on, sometimes it would go off. It switched into 4hi with a single push; the light would come on, sometimes blinking first. (I did thiswhile inD). I stopped the vehicle and put the auto tranny in nuetral. Attempted to go into 4 low--but the light would either blink indefinitely, or blink for a while and then go back into 4hi or 2hi. I can't seem to activate the auto 4wd or 4 lo.
The ac works fine and idling is great.
Any ideas guys? Fuse, switch, vacuum, or what?

Try putting it into 4 Lo when you are moving real slow like just rolling under 5 MPH ..

I really do not have much experiance with the push button 4x4, my friend has it in his blazer and I do know that every now and then he will have some issues getting it into 4low.
I would second what is said above...try backing up some then putting it in N and try 4lo or rolling forward then putting it in N and trying 4lo.
If you try searching around I think I recall reading some post on how to troubleshoot the electronic 4x4...

Yea I've tried and am still using the search engine. There's sooooo many 4x4 threads -- and yet I can't seem to find the one that will help me with this intermittent problem.
Oh and I went from 2hi to 4hi, and then put it in neutral, while rolling pressed the 4lo, and heard the clunk -- but as soon as I placed the tranny back in "D" the vehicle clunked again and went back to 4hi.
