Post Is this normal ?

Hi everybody

When I see my oil pressure gauge I think that it is low but I am not sure.

Is this normal?

The question is more like "is it within the specification". To be more accurate check out 4.3 Vortec manual for pressure/rpms table. Most probably it is.
The engine is heated, so Your oil is thinner than when cold. That makes it flow easier through the block. Add the engine bearings wear and You'll get the picture as on photo...
To be on a safe side You may check the oil dipstick to see if the oil isn't mixing with coolant (will form the matter resembling butter). But if this is not a sudden change, then probably You don't have to worry much. Just check out when was Your last oil change.
EDIT: Oh, just noted You have a 300k kms on odometer, so probably this is an usual wear.

So, I'm not sure how those numbers relate to freedom units, but it looks pretty low to me. Mine has 338k miles, and it's significantly higher at idle than yours

275 kPa is about 40 psi. So the half way mark between 0 - 275 should be around 20 psi. Your a bit under that. A little low on pressure looks like to me, But not horribly low for a 200,000 mile engine. What oil are you running?

I apologize but as a Moderator I somehow wrote over your message when trying to reply and I ended up deleting the result. Please re-post

You can use 10W30 to make up for extra bearing clearances in a worn engine. the owners manual allows 10W30. good luck

According to the Vortec service manual You should have the following pressure at the normal operating temperature (heated up block):
6.0 PSI/42 kPa at 1k rpm
18 PSI/125 kPa at 2k rpm
24 PSI/166 kPa at 4k rpm
Btw. when was Your last oil change? Any chance for plugged filter?

I'd say your a little over a quart low, check the dip stick, or do an oil change. Also check your remote oil lines, as you might be losing oil from there.
