o2 sensor, exhaust leak..
Hey guys, long long time since ive been on here. my blazer just hit 225k and still running like a beast. i drive alot for a living and its been running fantastic.
I ran that seafoam crap through my system over the summer and ever since then ive had a problem starting the truck when cold, and also the idle is thrown off.
Along with that problem ive got a really smelly exhaust leak that comes through the vent and into the cab. are both of these problems related? do i have bad o2 sensors and do both need to be replaced? im just looking for a direction as to what needs repair.
thanks, shawn

Hi, the O2 sensor also reacts to the leak you have in the exhaust, I would fix that first and see what's happening!

If the exhaust leak is between the engine and the first O2 sensor (the one closest to the 'y' in the y-pipe), then yes, it could be throwing off the O2 sensor readings.
Have you scanned the computer for codes? If so, what were the codes?

I havent been able to read the codes. my truck is a OBD1.5 and therefore NOONE has a tool thatll read it. ive been to autozone/advanceauto. i guess i should try PepBoys?
