In retrospect is was most likely plugging and unplugging the thing to put it in the circuit that "fooled/fixed" completed the heater circuit.

Ticket was dismissed.

Just get a dumb obd1 only sensors are the ones for running the fuel injection.

so if i go and have some one delete the down stream o2 sensor in my ecu it wont effect gas mileage what so ever?

That is correct. The check engine light will eventually come on and set a DTC in memory, but it will not affect performance or mileage.

IIRC, the 98+ s-series trucks use a different set of specs in the ecm if an o2 sensor code is thrown, including B1S2 and B2S2
