Default OBD Plug

Hi

I recently got a hold of a 95 model S-10, and now I am considering buying a ODB code reader.
My question is; where is the plug located? Does anyone have a picture of the placement?
I have been looking under the dash, but I cant seem to find it...

PS: Sorry if my English isnt perfect, I am Norwegian

Default RE: OBD Plug

Welcome!

It should be on the under dash hush panel on the driver's side. Attached is an image showing its placement.

Please be aware that '95 was an inbetween year for the on-board-diagnostic setup. It is commonly referred to as OBD1.5 as it has elements of OBD1 as well as elements of OBD2. This can make code reader selection tricky. If you have some code readers in mind, we can look them over for you and let you know if it will work.

Hope this helps!

Ok, I´ll see if I cant find it this afternoon.

I was looking at this; http://www.myscantool.com/, it said they had used it successfully on the `95, but after som reading here I got a bit unsure...
Maybe someone has one they could recommend?

It seems that that tool will not work for your application. also you should get rid of the comma in the link above as you have to post it into the browser bar and delete the comma for it to go to the webpage.

Any of the OBD II readers from Equus Innova (3030, 3100, 3120 which does OBD I and II) would work. They are fair priced also. Starting at about $50 and up. The 3120 runs about $200 (avg. price), but does both styles of OBD. Just really depends on if you do more OBD II or if you do a mix of OBD I and OBD II.
