Default OBDII Port Not Functional...HELP!!

Hey guys im new to the site bought my blazer about 4 monthes ago, its a 2002 LS, About 3 weeks ago the SES light came on while i was on my way back from the lake, tryed running my OBDII scanner on it and keeps saying cannot connect to OBD Protocal, Went and took it to autozone to have them tell me the same thing... Ive checked the fuses they are all fine, any one have any ideas on what might be causing the port not to work? any help or advice is greatly appreciated thanks

IIRC, the cigarette lighter fuse powers both it and the OBD port. Double-check it.

I've tried it with the engine on, and off, when it was off, the key was in the on position.
