Odometer 999,999 miles 98 Blazer
I've been having instrument cluster issues that seem common to many members of this Forum with Blazers over 10 years old. Among other problems, the PRND321 and Odom lites flicker on/off. A rap on the window brings them back. At times the Odom switches to Kilometers (000,000) but always goes back to miles next start-up. Today I had a reading of 148,250 miles at start up and about 40 miles on the Trip Odom. Drove about 2 miles to Stop #1. Returned with purchases, started 'er up and saw a reading of 380,472 miles on the Odom. (!!!) Checked the Trip Odom and it read 42 miles. Since my gas gauge is also on the fritz, I rely on the odom for knowing when to re-fuel, etc. I left it in Trip Odom mode until getting back home. Switched to (regular) Odometer mode while parked and it read 999,999. Not sure, but I have a feeling that, if I leave it in this mode and begin driving, it will not roll over to 000,000.
Any of you know the answers to the following?
If I pull the cluster out and solder any loose-looking connections, will I get my Odom Back?
Any way to restore the correct mileage amount?
Any other suggestions or help would be appreaciated.
Thanks

No help here as my 2001 blazer has all the dash lights on all the time. gas gauge doesn't work etc. But I would take a pic of the odometer and send it to chevy and see what they have to say about a blazer with that many miles My fun car is a Dodge magnum with a 6.1 HEMI and Dodge will send you a license plate holder for 100k 200k etc. Not that I will ever use that. Mine is a 2006 with 12,000 miles on it.

For reasons unknown, the Odom is back to "normal". It registered at 148,300 at start up yesterday - which I suspect is accurate to within a couple miles. Better than being off by several hundred thousand I guess !!! Seemed to work OK for the remainder of the day.
