Default 91 Blazer 4.3/"Y" = Digital Odometer says "error"

yet another new problem on my 1 day old Blazer...

The odo just says 'error'

Also, sometimes the odo reading just goes black, when it returns, the mileage hasnt changed.

Where to go from here?

Try unplugging your battery and leaving it unplugged over night, this should reset your computer.

Also you may try another computer box.

The computer is located under the passenger side dash.

The issue could also be a sensor or module.

Actually your odometer is on it's last leg. Mine was doing the same thing. I just replaced it with an exchange unit. $125.00 exchange. Abiut 1 1/2 to 2 hours to change it. Check this guy out. I used him. No problems. Here's the link. There's all kinds pf good information here.
