Default oil cooler line removal question

I have a 95 Blazer and the oil cooler lines are leaking again. I have read many post about eliminating the cooler lines and attaching the oil filter directly to the engine block. Can someone recommend what oil filter would work for clearance issues, and is there a post or video that I could review that specifically shows this procedure step by step for 2nd generation blazers?

Thanks bizzs

I use the factory oil filter on my '96 with it relocated to the engine block. There is a fair bit of info online about the adapter you need. With IFS I think it would be pretty tricky to change the filter.
Another option would be to just replace the hose sections of you existing remote filter. I've read of guys having good luck with simply cutting out the leaky section, and hose clamping in a new piece. Make sure the hose is good for heat and oil. Goodyear ORTAC, or Gates LOL are two hoses that come to mind.

you already have everything you need to do the job.

the nipple you have now the filter screws into can be removed, and used on the block. it has a allen hole inside. remove the adapter, scrap the old gasket off inside the block, thread nipple in. replace filter. if you have 4wd,use filter pf47 from ac delco. or cross pf 47 and use whatever.

Not all do Chris, I know mine didn't, it was pressed into the filter housing. My GM dealer had it in stock for a few bucks though.

yeah mine didnt either. but mine was the older style, 1993.

it was only like 7 bucks at the dealer. i remember a post a while back on here of someone doing this on a 4x4 and there was no room for the oil filter. though that may have been a style like mine where it had the oil filter relocation set up

If you run the stock filter for the truck, the filter fits fine. There are a few guys that have used the incorrect adapter on the block and then try and use a filter that is too big in diameter.

The local GM dealer had them in stock, for under $10.
