If I understand you right, you actuall have a coolant leak, and the coolant is showing up on the intake manifold and running down the engine block by the starter. If this is the case you might want to search about intake manifold coolant leak, to see if that might be the culprit.

 

Yes, you are correct. Got word from my garage today and was indeed a coolant leak from intake manifold. What an expensive fix. We can bail out GM but won't help us with all the crap they put in there vehicles.

 

Well, I guess I need to back track. I do have an oil leak. I still noticed it was leaking in the usual spot.

 

It seems to now be toeing this a little more. Now about 1/2 a quart to 2000 miles. Now that may not sound bad, but I don't like to be dripping oil. I have seen my passenger side of the engine block is wet in oil, above the starter. It still beats me where the oil is coming from. Too much clutter in there to see. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like valve cover gasket is leaking. Not too bad of a repair to do....far more time than money for the gasket. Just need to move "things" out of the way to get the valve covers off...and might as well do both sides.

Drop it off along with new gaskets and I'll do them...free.

 

But royal purple oil if you can afford it.But they claim the high mileage oil has an additive that`s suppose to stop or slow down small oil leaks.
