Default Oil Stabilizer

Do you use an oil stabilizer for preventing future leaks? I used it in my previous cars that were not blazers. When i had a leak I used it and it stopped leaking. I read in an oil forum it said they don’t recommend using it unless you have already have a leak. Also my mechanic said he doesn’t recommend Lucas transmission fix fluid unless your transmission is slipping.

'If it ain't broke, don't fix it" has been my motto for many years. Just do the regular maintenance. If you end up getting a leak on whatever system, best thing to do is fix it. However, I do understand that a simple leak is not always an easy fix. I've used that stuff twice, once as a temporary fix, and another as a fix as I couldn't find the leak. Never did find that leak but the additive appeared to work. Never did leak again. I've never used it as a preventative measure for a leak that might happen.
