If your getting good fuel delivery and good spark, no vacuum leaks ect...
Then perhaps it is an air issue. An idle air control valve that is sticking in a closed position could cause some of your symptoms. That along with the badly leaking exhaust could cause your truck to have a low idle and no ***** as you say.
Pull the IAC and check for a thick gum like coating in the housing. If the IAC is nice and clean or only has light carbon deposits then this is not likely the problem. You should test the IAC itself with a digital volt meter though just to be sure.

Another possibility would be your throttle position sensor. A faulty TPS could also cause many of your symptoms. Specifically the chugging and hesitation on acceleration and the "resistance" feeling you sometimes get. If the ECM isn't getting accurate readings on your throttle position then it can't adjust your air/fuel mixtures properly and nothing will run right.

A bad TPS would usually throw a SES light but I have seen them go bad without doing so in the past.

Oh right on man. The only time my truck has thrown a code is when Carbon used to get stuck in the egr. I will definately take a looksie at the iac and tps.

I feel like an idiot not realizing that my bad exhaust leak could be causing these issues. We shall see what the outcome of all of this will be. Thanks guys
