Question Ok what size frame bushing do I need on the sway bar on a 2wd 98 blazer?

As the title says. I go to autozone to buy the front sway bar bushings and they tell me there is a 1 and 1/16", a 1 and 1/8", and a 1 and 1/4" diameter bushing. Which one out of the three do I need? I mean shouldn't that be in their computers? There was only one style of sway bar for a 2wd 98 blazer, right?? Thanks for any help.

This might sound like a smart alek question, but why dont you just measure it?

Hello Lizardking88mph,

Like kristoph30 mentioned, you can measure it yourself.

Use a pipe wrench/adjustable wrench to clamp on the sway bar gently,
then use a straight ruler to measure the width of the opening
of the wrench. That should give you the diameter you are looking for.

You are correct though, you would think there would be info
from your Vin number and production code where to find that
info. Not sure about that. Maybe someone else has that info.

The best option has already been stated == measure it.

The RPO codes will tell you what suspension setup you have, but I have never seen a listing of what size sway bar went in each of the different suspension RPO codes anywhere. GM might be able to tell you, but given how easy it is to take a vernier caliper or even an adjustable wrench and slip it over the sway bar in the middle of the truck and measure the gap, I would just recommend measuring it.

Cool, thanks. I'll give the adjustable wrench measurement a shot. i thought they just used the same sway bars on all s10s during that time period. Appreciate the help.
