In over my head. Please help!
This isn’t the first time, just the first time with this Blazer. Was my mom’s Blazer, she passed, I bought it. I know it had good maintainence - 50,000 miles, ton of oil leaks though. I’ve put 45,000 on it and it has a lot more leaks so I decided to r&r it and during the “&” part, I’d change the oil pan gasket, timing chain, oil pump, etc... . In the process I also changed the distributer cause the bearing in it was shot. First “r” was straight forward, second “r” tough! Primed the motor, all looked good, hooked up coil wire and it started but ran bad, real bad. Set motor at TDC, rotor was way off, not on the 6 at all. Played around for a real long time until I got it sat, hooked it all back up and she would not start, she made a sound like may be I was180 off. Played around for a real long time again until the distributer sat again. This time for sure I was 180 off. Fixed that. Ran like crap again. Buddy came over with a scanner it showed crankshaft sensor. Put in good new sensor with new pig tail. Now it starts, runs smooth for about 30 - 60 seconds and turns off. What is going on man?
When you put in a new Crank sensor you need to do a crank sensor relearn, which requires a high end scanner, Auto zone walmart advanced auto wont work. After that you need to do a camshaft relearn with same scanner

Cam sensor retard is an adjustment, not a relearn. Should be 0 +/- 2 degrees.
Crank sensor relearn is for misfire detection. Won't actually cause a misfire, but it can make you PCM think it has a misfire and turn on the SES lgiht..
Although these things need to be done/checked, I don't think it's the cause of your problem.
Sounds to me like distributor may still not be in right or you have a fuel pressure problem. If it's not setting a P1345, then your distributor is in on the correct tooth.

Would the crank sensor re-learn be necessary after replacing the timing cover but re-using the old crank sensor?
I just did LIM gaskets, head gaskets, New distributor, wires, plugs, coil, Spyder Injector and timing gear set.........
I re-used the crank sensor....starts and idles with a small intermittent miss gets worse as the engine temp increases.
Didn't mean to hijack this thread.

As for your felt misfire, check your cam sensor retard. Should be 0° ± 2°. If that's OK check fuel pressure. Start a new thread if problems.

Newguy, if you’re out there I wanted to let you know that I took her to a shop for the relearn and they told8 me I had the reluctor wheel on backwards. I just pulled the timing chain cover off and the wheel is broken! The collar that slides over the crankshaft was broken off all the way around. Have no idea how. Think it was on right, collar was toward the engine. Gotta find a reluctor wheel now. Chevy said it is a discontinued item but they could find one. It’ll take a week or 2.
