So i have a 5/8 line wrench which is almost exactly the same as 16mm. So I got the filter off and the gas that came out of the filter looked like coffee. I had a tough time getting the line wrench on because the fitting was rather rusty. Luckily I had it soaking in PB Blaster for about 3 days. So I used a crescent wrench to loosen the filter. Once I got it broke loose getting it off was gravy. So I put the new o ring on (got it from Chevy for $1.59) and got the new filter on hand tight. Then it started to downpour and i stopped there for tonight. Tomorrow I'll tighten it up and then we'll see what happens.

Just got the fuel filter done and it doesn't leak. I also had it running for a couple of minutes with no check engine light yet. It could just be off because I disconnected the battery. I didn't even have trouble getting it to start afterward.

Hope it works for you. I am having the same problems. Very frustrating.

Didn't work for me. I am still getting the P0102 code. Getting ready to pressure test now.

I just tested the voltage. ignition on not running 5.3 was the reading. Then with the vehicle running wiggled the connector and wires. No fluctuation on the scanner.
I dont have the tools to test fuel pressure. I think im going to bring it to a shop.

You can rent a pressure tester from Advance for $150. Which you get back when you return it. So in essence it is a free tool rental. And testing is really easy.

So I tested my pressure, the numbers are listed below. I know there is no spec for engine running psi but I was just curious so I tested it after I got all of the other readings.

With Pump on - 62 psi
after pump shut off - 57 psi
after 10 minutes - 56 psi
With engine at idle - 52 psi

The 10 minute leakdown of 56psi tells us that the system leakdown is fine. The 62psi reading is either regulated fuel pressure, or maximum fuel pump output pressure, whichever is lower. Testing pressure at the fuel filter is necessary to diagnose the system. https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...eakdown-88305/

The 57psi and the 52psi readings are meaningless

I figured they were probably meaningless but it is like I tell my users. I would rather have too much information as opposed to too little. I will test at the fuel filter itself one day when it warms up.

I have a sort of weird question about your sticky. When you attach the 1/4 fitting to the pressure tester, what pushes the schrader valve down on the tester?
