Default p1345 Code help

I recently changed out my head gasket and lower intake gaskets, after putting it all back together and doing a test drive, my SES came on with a P1345 present. I attempted to readjust my dizzy but by following the instructions that have been floating around here, the code still comes back. Along with the p1345 it has been a very rough ride, like its missing a lot. Would the p1345 cause a rough idle?

Any suggestions on what I can do to correct the p1345? Would it require a relearn or would changing the camshaft sensor on the dizzy make any difference?

Also, does anyone have any experience using ScanXL Pro? I want to set up a custom dash and use accurate data. Any specific PIDs I can use to help out with the P1345 and get it fixed?

Update:

I found the CMP retard PID and ran it while both at idle and while giving acceleration. At idle it fluctuates between 0 and 96 upwards to 300 or so. At 2000 rpm it fluctuates between -7 and -96 never at 0.

Any thoughts?

you have the distributor installed wrong it is probably out by one tooth which is why it runs poorly and is setting the code, when it is installed properly at 1500 rpm the TDC offset on a scanner should read between -1 and +1 degrees

Im back, unfortunately, the P1345 came back earlier today. The blazer is running decently, has a P0300 still, but im willing to guess that it has something to do with the p1345. Also I discovered that my TPS is going out on me, but I also know that the TPS doesnt really have much to do with the P0300.

I've tried adjusting the distributor but it wouldn't really budge, any ideas on how I can get it to move to adjust the cam shaft retard?

Trying to get a bump in.

I have attempted correcting the p1345 but have not been successful. I have restabbed the dizzy several times both in the advance and retard positions but have not made any progress. Each time I start the blazer the light immediately comes on after clearing. The cam shaft sensor has been replaced so I am positive that is not the problem.

Any ideas on what I can do?

P1345 means the distributor is off at least one tooth. This thread will show you how to time it correctly. After the distributor is installed correctly, camshaft retard must be checked and adjusted if necessary, using a capable scan tool.

Just to update for other people seeking to correct a P1345 issue:

Recently I purchased a Small Block Distributor clamp, used a capable scan tool that showed CMP Correlation. In my case I was off only by -7.7 at 1000 RPM. I installed the clamp and rotated the distributor counter clockwise a smidge until it was within the +/- 2*.

As of now, I have not had the p1345 code or a p0300 code show up. Everything seems to be fine at the moment. I will provide an update if there are any other issues.
