Default Parking brake cable thead specs?

I have a 2001 2dr 2wd. my rear ebrake cable runs from the passenger rear tire to an adjuster under the drivers door. the original cable broke at the adjuster nut and its fused together. i was gona use two nuts and washers to replace the original piece. problem is every nut ive tried does not thread well. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE THREAD SIZE???

IIRC the typical diameter for those.. you should have tried at least 4 nuts.. SAE and Metric have two each thread pitches to try.

You may have to go by harbor freight and pick up some thread size gauges

Alternative: If there's room, cut back the original, get new threaded rod roughly the same size and nuts to fit. Then two cable clamps to clamp rods together.

Or a variation, thereof.

Not gonna crawl under to check, thank you very much!

Ive removed the old cable completely. the old treaded end is mangled beyond repair from trying the remove the adjuster nut. stupidly i installed the new cable and was tying to avoid removing it to bring it to a hardware store to find a nut. 5/16 fine and coarse thread dont work and metric 1.25 and 1.50 pitch dont work either (i tried way more than 4). guess im gona hafta remove the new cable and hunt down some new nuts
