Hey all, Happy new year, does any one know how to replace or adjust the parking brake switch that is attached to the parking brake pedal.

The switch is located on the top of the parking brake assembly. There's a screw holding the switch to the assembly that will probably allow you to remove it but I'm not sure if you can buy just the switch. The lever assembly I bought (at the dealer) came with a new switch already attached.

The switch has a metal contact that points towards the lever. Bending the contact will adjust when the circuit is completed and when the light comes on.

You may need to unbolt the assembly in order to get a good view of the switch itself. I can post pictures of the assembly and switch if you would like.

Here are some pics. There are three bolts holding the assembly to the truck. Two are visible and the third is partially hidden from view. I've outlined them in green circles below. You can see the socket resting on the third bolt in the second picture.

Once you have the three bolts removed, you should be able to move the assembly down far enough to see and adjust the switch contact. The cable can be difficult to remove from the lever because the jacket has three prongs that hold it in much like a fishhook. Unless you're replacing the whole assembly, you probably won't need to remove the cable

Bolts are outlined in GREEN and the switch is outlined in BLUE
