Parking brake - what am I doing wrong?

This was for the parking brake on disc brakes, where the p-brake has a drum type set up inside the rear disc brake rotor. Would the slam on the brakes method work by holding the p-brake handle in release mode, going in reverse, and then slamming on the p-brake pedal?

Nope, strictly manual adjustment with this set up, (no self adjuster). Before adjusting the star wheels, the cables need to be disconnected from the lever at each wheel.
