Started acting up this week. Power windows work in the "DOWN" position, but nothing going up. Had to manually pull it up while the wife pushed up on the switch but I couldn't hear the motor working going up. Once it's up it won't stay up. A good bump or too much win at it starts sliding down to about an inch.

What's broke and how do I fix it?

If it goes down on it's own without pressing any buttons, then something is likely wrong with the regulator itself. You really won't know until you get the regulator out and have a look at things.
