Hi all, apologies for starting a new thread on my ongoing fuel pump saga. I now, possibly after dodgy a repair shop, have the following problems on my poor S10. The fuel pump does not run at all, I've bypassed relay and put 12v down the line to the pump, no sound, no fuel, so either pump, wiring or grounding is bad, am I correct ? I should be able to sort this out with a decent repair shop. Secondly, the relay does not get 12v anyway,even when I put the ignition on, as this comes from the PCM, could their be a fault in this unit ?
Thirdly, and here is the rub, I can start the engine, it is bi-fuel and will start on LPG, now before you say "its an LPG system fault" I an 99% sure it's not as the LPG has worked fine from day one and it doesn't mess about with the fuel pump and if you pull the LPG fuse the system will switch back to a petrol only system. But back to my third query, now (since its visit to dodgy repair shop) when running (on LPG) I get a flashing engine warning light when I go above about 30mph, the engine sounds OK but there is a little pinking steep climbs, before the engine ran fine on either fuel, so could the PCM have gone bad and still run the engine ? (Bearing in mind the no fuel pump relay signal).
I should explain that I don't have facilities to do any major work on the vehicle other than simple under-bonnet repairs or tests hence my reliance on the repair shop.
I love my S10 but this problem really is proving to be a real pain in the a**e so any help would be greatly appreciated.
