Please help! Blazer Won't Start!!
Hi I just bought a 2001 Chevy Blazer. Yesterday we went to start the blazer and everything went dead. We thought battery, so we tried jumping it and nothing happened, so we bought a new battery. We got power to the car (lights went on, gauges were reading) but as soon as we tried to start it everything went dead. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Does anyone know what this might be?
This problem is usually linked to a failed ignition switch, but could be corroded or dirty connections at the starter. I would start by checking the main power feed at the starter.
You need to look at the battery connections and work from there. I know I said starter, but I was having a brain fart type of day and meant battery. This topic has been discussed quite a bit in the past. Seems some batteries like to corrode on the inside of the battery behind the positive post. If the battery is over 3 years old, I would replace it out of principle. If that doesn't fix it, then I would move on to the ignition switch replacement.
The starter is located on the passenger side as rriddle3 pointed out in your other thread which I have closed.
