Default 93 4.3 s10 blazer won't start!!! Please Help!

Hello,

I am new to this form today, and hope that I can get some assistance. I have a 93 s10 Blazer with the 4.3 Vortec, code W. I have replaced the fuel pump, and filter, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The pump is giving right at 55 lbs. When I attempt to start the engine it will turn over and over and never attempt to fire. If I spray starting fluid or carb cleaner or throw a little gas in the top of the engine it will start fine and run great, until it is turned off again. Then it is back to the starting fluid. I do know that the pressure regulator is leaking, but do not see any signs of the cpi, or the fuel lines leaking. Could the regulator be causing this starting problem, or should I replace all three parts?

Thank you for the help!
John D.

Take a look at this recent thread https://blazerforum.com/forum/engine...problem-75029/ . Good info in there. Also do a search in the forums for "leakdown test". I have never done it, but from what I have been reading it seems to give you good diagnosis without guessing at which parts to replace.

Thank you.
I have done this before, and the leakdown is much smaller than it should be which is why I am replacing the regulator. Anybody have any ideas how to test the injectors and nut kit, to see if they also need replacing?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I installed a new fuel regulator, and the beast fired right up. No all I need to do is iron out the brake problem and change the oil!!!!
