Default PLEASE HELP with heater!!!

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here and I need some help with my heater on a 98 Blazer with auto climate control. I have radiant heat, so I believe that either my heater blower is bad or my blower switch. I was told if it were the resistor that it would blow all the time, so I have ruled that out for now. My question is how hard is it to change out the the blower control switch. I believe it is in my dash, correct? Anyone have some experience with this PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

Have you tried jumping the blower motor to see if it works?

I have not tried that yet, but that does sound like a good idea.

Try a search on Heater Door Servo. i think that is what it's called. What it boils down to is this: You heater never really "shuts" off as the door is stuck. Hello free heat! Sucks more than a little depending on where you live though

I had this same problem a few weeks ago. Try jumping your blower motor to see if it works. If it does, check for voltage at the blower motor control module (its the resistor in our trucks with ACC). Its just to the right of the blower motor that the plug comes from for the blower motor. You have 3 wires that go into it.... orange, black, and purple with a white stripe. Orange should be +12 constant, black is ground, and the purple is the signal from the switch in the dash for blower speed. Mine had a bad ground and no voltage a the orange wire. I tapped in to the body ground stud right above the blower motor control module with the black wire, and ran a fused link to the +12 constant stud under the plastic shroud of the underhood electrical box for the orange. Everything works great now. If your not getting signal at the purple wire let me know. I got an electronic climate control module I can hook you up with.
