Default Post Heater Core change out Blues.

I just went through the horrible nightmare of a heater core change... 99' 4door blazer 4x4.... Everything went ok with the exception of me cracking the plastic over the gauge cluster. There are a couple pull-a-parts around me and was considering getting a whole new gauge cluster and putting in it.. Two questions,

1. will this change my odo and screw up my milage?
2. Do I have to get a cluster from another 99 model or could I go like from 98 to 2001 or so?

Also, everything works fine post assembly with the exception of my dome lights.. I have looked over and over and cannot get them to come on to save my life. The fuse is good. The lights will not come on with the dimmer switch or the door's opening. The map lights also lack power. The temp gauge and compuss does work. Any ideas on this one?

Thanks a bunch for any help.

I believe the odometer reading is stored in the PCM and just displayed by the cluster. I also think you are correct on the year range. Just get a cluster that is like yours and you should be good. Or you could just grab the plastic bezel on the front of it and put it on yours.

As far as your dome lights go, you were careful to connect all grounds etc under the dash? What is so odd about this is the trip computer gets the same power that the dome and map lights do... From the CTSY LP fuse...

I made sure to lable and connect every plug that I had to disconnect. I even put my hands on the wireing from the dome light switches to their plugs to make sure I didn't pull them loose... <shrug> Guess I'll have to start chasing wires down... It's like the lights have no power at all for some reason...

by some weird chance-did you push the 'dome' override button? Just a thought. JP[8D]
