Default power lock and hatch issues.

hello all! i am new to the forums and have some issues. I have a 2000 ZR2 Blazer .My power locks all of a sudden have quit working. than the next day the power hatch release button quit working. are the two tied to a single fuse? i have checked the fuses on the d/s door jame and underhhood. the fuses are all good. WHAT am i missing? thanks to all

I would try replacing the PWR LKS fuse (#14 - 15A). This powers all three of the relays responsible for locking/unlocking the doors.

Look at the 3 amp fuse in the engine compartment.

Thumbs up Hatch, power locks, power mirror problems

I agree with AJBert. It is almost definately the 3 amp fuse in the underhood fuse box. I searched high and low for hours to fix or Blazers problems only to find out it was the purple 3A fuse just to the right of the larger A/C relay in the underhood fuse box. If you hold the hatch release button for too long it will blow making the door lock switches, power mirrors, and power hatch release inop.

I found this thread right after I read another thread about a broken actuator and cracked the plastic panel on the rear tailgate trying to remove it. Then I see this post and go check the fuse... blown... DANG IT! I should know to start simple. But I did check the fuse in the dash and it was good. I didn't even think there were two separate ones for the system. Well... live and learn I guess. It did pop right after I popped the rear glass with the button on the dash too; just like you said above. Thanks for the answer!

Default Rear Hatch

I have a 01 blazer, so the parts are most likley the same. A similar problem occured with me. If all the electronics are good, then the locking mechanisim gets mared and jams shut from the constant opening and closing.
To take it apart requires pulling back the plastic from above with two screw drivers enough where you can manualy open the hatch. Be carefull not to break or bend anything.
Once the gate is open file down the locking mechanism, I gave a little chamfer between the latch componets to prevet this from occuring again.
